All the spring rains have really produced an incredible show this year. The iris are spectacular. Some cultivars are very old, most are unnamed, many were given to me by friends. A few that I moved last fall were stubborn and did not bloom this year, but I had other surprises with some blooming that have not done so in years. So without further ado… behold the iris
Well that was quite nice wasn’t it? The Japanese Iris (Ensata) will be along in a few weeks.. lots of buds though.
It was. Other than Iris sibirica they don’t succeed here, too wet and way too many molluscs, so a real pleasure to share yours!
So glad you enjoyed them Jessica…
That second picture shows variegated Iris pallida!
I probably mentioned earlier that I have a rule against purchasing iris. All of mine were gifts or procured at work. Some were found in greenwaste recycle piles!
Wow that are some exotic shades of irises for me …so many shades in blue …Have a great week ahead.
With so many iris, looks like you live in a botanical garden! I recognize one s ‘Quaker Lady’ that I have. It’s an old heirloom.

Thank you Ray.. I will look up ‘Quaker Lady’ and see which one it is
