Mid-June: the Iris show continues….

All the spring rains have really produced an incredible show this year.  The iris are spectacular.  Some cultivars are very old, most are unnamed, many were given to me by friends.  A few that I moved last fall were stubborn and did not bloom this year, but I had other surprises with some blooming that have not done so in years.  So without further ado… behold the iris

  1. That second picture shows variegated Iris pallida!
I probably mentioned earlier that I have a rule against purchasing iris. All of mine were gifts or procured at work. Some were found in greenwaste recycle piles!

  2. With so many iris, looks like you live in a botanical garden! I recognize one s ‘Quaker Lady’ that I have. It’s an old heirloom.
