We are in drought. I think I spent most of the last couple of weeks watering and trying to keep things going. Most of the thundershowers in the area missed us, but the next few days hold promise of more so we shall see. In the meantime between hauling the hoses around I have a few photos to share.

The japanese iris are just starting to bloom – I will post some photos once they all come into flower.
Is catalpa native there?
lots of it around. its native and also some consider it invasive. it is messy but the one here was here when we moved in and its great in the meadow where the mess isn’t a bother. the flowers are gorgeous and smell heavenly
I have enjoyed the one that I work with. It is one of two self sown trees there, although the other is now gone. It can self sow, but does not seem to naturalize enough to be a problem.
