Old man willow

Well the old guy finally came down today…  its always hard to watch a part of the landscape disappear, but the tree was rotted out and was in danger of falling on someone or something.   Unfortunately, he had to come down…….

  1. The tree was rotted out and had severe carpenter ant damage. We kept it as long as we felt it was safe. There is a photo back in the archives of the tree from the side which showed some of the rot.

  2. Penny, I am sad to see the tree come down! This has always been one of my favorite sights when walking Harry. Hopefully you will plant something that will have as long a life as Old Man Willow. Mimi
