The Japanese Iris Ensata began blooming in late June and some are still going strong. Some have fewer blossoms than last year which means I probably need to dig them up and thin them out. Another chore for the fall to do list.

I don’t know how people put up with it, I’m not a fan of guns, but if something was eating my garden I’d seriously consider taking some sort of defensive action ….. but there are other alternatives-high fences, netting, cheap cologne….and probably lots more!
We have used many methods… some work better than others
The irises and the deer are beautiful! When I used to live where I had deer nibbling in the garden I used smelly handsoap as a deterent.
